Trimming the Tree

It's hard to believe, but tomorrow is the 1st of December here in New Zealand. The first day of summer, and the day we decorate our Christmas tree! This being Jackson's first Christmas, it's even more special than usual and I'm trying to record as many memories as possible. Today I have a card I made for his Smash Book, I'll paste it in, and add a photo of his first Christmas Tree.

I've used stamps and Die-namics from the AWESOME Laina Lamb designs line. I've used Journal It - Calendar Basics and Document It - December. The Die-namics are Insert It - 3x4 Insert and Accent It - Flags and Tags. I wanted to keep the flag relatively flat, so just finished off with a Poinsettia Die-namics flower - isn't this thing amazing? LOVE this die!

Inside the card I've left room for a photo. I've left one side of the embellishments not stuck down so I can slip the photo underneath.

Here are the Die-namics I've used today:

WSC 100! Elf...

It's time for another awesome MFT sketch! I haven't had much time to play lately (a crawling 6 month old to chase after is keeping me BUSY!) but I had to join in this week - it's sketch 100! That's a lot of sketchy inspiration!

I've used one of the fab new PI sets - Elf Girl. I added a little glaze pen to her hat and shoes for some added interest. A Let it Snowflake is the only embellishment here, keeping it sharp and simple!

Inside I've used the same papers from the front of the card and the ADORABLE sentiment!

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

To play along with WSC, create a card with the provided sketch and upload it to SCS using the keyword MFTWSC100. A new sketch will be posted each Wednesday on the MFT blog and also in the forum. Each week one random winner will win a $15 voucher to spend at MFT, and if you use MFT stamps on your creation, you'll get a $5 bonus taking your voucher win up to $20! We'll be chatting each week on the sketch thread, so come join us in the MFT forum!

New Product Tour - Clearly Sentimental about New Beginnings

It's time! All those gorgeous stamps, Die-namics, inks and new colour supplies you've been drooling over are available HERE NOW!

Welcome to the New Product Tour - your chance to see all the new MFT gorgeousness in action once more.

Make sure to visit Kim's Blog for links to all the MFT designers, and leave comments along the way, one lucky fan will win a $50 gift certificate!

Today I'm sharing two cards made with this month's Triple Scoop set, Clearly Sentimental about New Beginnings.
This set can be yours FREE when you spend $60 in the MFT Store! I love all the sentiments in this one, they are perfect to celebrate the new year, or just to give a little encouragement.

I've used clustered focal points for both my cards today, for me it's the perfect mix of clean and simple, and piling it on!

For my first card, I've used the new Decorative Circle Tag STAX as my base. The sentiment is stamped on a Clearly Sentimental Label. I've used one of my fave borders, the Double Scallop Border. And it seems I don't feel a card is complete without the new Dainty Bow - I love this!

I've also used the new Medium Fancy Flourish and covered it in stickles for a bit of sparkle.

One of the things I love about this set is how well the sentiments mix and match. I can always find a perfect one for the inside of my card.

For my second card, I've used the same Mother's Love papers from MME, and the same Steel Grey for the cardbase but changed the Die-namics and layout.

I started this one with a Dizzy Doily. A Fishtail Flag works in some of the pretty floral paper. There's the Dainty Bow again of course!

I used Stickles on the edge of the red layer to tie it in with the flourish on the first card.

I kept the inside of this one super simple. That's it from me today, don't forget to comment on each post as you take the tour today!

I've used Gift Card Greetings for my project again today - I just love being able to give a special touch to a gift card so the recipient knows you were thinking of them!

You'll see my fave Die-namics from this release again on this card - I think the Dainty Bow shape is just gorgeous! I've also used Darling Dots to stamp on my card base.

I used some patterned paper to line the inside of the gift card envelope.

Inside my card I've used another sentiment from the set, as well as some offcuts of my patterned paper.

MFT Teasers Day 4

Hi! we're halfway through MFT teasers already, and I think today might be my fave this month! Today the team are previewing Gift Card Greetings and the accompanying Die-namics, this set is genius!

I've used lots of new Die-namics on my stocking shaped card.

I used the new Jumbo Christmas Stocking Die-namics to create my card base. I've embossed the card base for some added texture. The stocking top was coated in glue and sparkly flocking powder.

I cut my Gift Card Pocket from designer paper, lining it up to make the most of the pre-printed design. I then stamped the "splurge" sentiment in the new Jellybean Green MFT ink. Under the pocket you'll spot a little of the new Medium Fancy Flourish peaking out.

The Let it Snowflake Die-namics is still one of my faves. Here I've cut it with felt and added some MFT buttons.

Inside my stocking card I've used another sentiment from the set and finished off with a Double Scallop Border.
